Actor Miles Stroter on Humility in Hollywood and His New Role on HBO's Insecure
Miles Stroter is taking the entertainment industry by storm.
With his infectious personality and tremendous talent, Miles’ made his television debut on USA’s Necessary Roughness in 2011. Since then, the 29-year-old has landed opportunities that many can only dream of. He’s appeared on hit television shows like The Game, NBC’s Chicago Fire and BET’s The Quad. He’s worked alongside incomparable entertainers like Jasmine Guy (A Different World), Ruben Santiago Hudson (ABC’s Castle) Sean Blakemore (ABC’s General Hospital) and Anika Noni Rose.
But, it’s his latest role on HBO’s Insecure that has many wondering just who Miles Stroter is.
“I’m all about servitude,” Stroter told TNJ. “And that’s why my blessings flow so abundantly.”
Having been ranked the #25 lineman in the nation, football was once all the Southside Chicago native dreamed of. But that all. changed once he discovered his acting talents.
Today, Stroter has transitioned from athletics to acting–an ultimate nod to his tenacity, drive and humility.
“[Recently] I learned about humility from Issa Rae,” Stroter shared. “She’s on the top of her game right now, but is so down to earth, her energy is unmatched. I’m grateful to have worked with her and Yvonne.”
Stroter’s talents soar even beyond the barriers of acting. A musician and screenwriter, Stroter recently premiered his breakout indy film, Karma, starring Kris D. Lofton of HBO’s Ballers. And while acknowledging this accomplishment with pride, Stroter says he’s focused on the bigger picture.
“Most young actors are focused on the now, enjoying their short term successes,” he said. “I’m taking the momentum and I’m working harder and being more disciplined so that the success doesn’t stop. I want it forever.”
