With writing crafted to appeal to present popular taste and public interest, The New Journalist is incomparable to what has existed prior.

A native of Long Island, Tara is the creator and lead writer of The New Journalist. Additionally, she is an editorial coordinator for Understood.org – a division of the National Center for Learning Disabilities.  and co-host of 2nd Service podcast.

In this new era of journalism, Tara Drinks exercises her love for the art of conveying a story, to deliver insightful, informative and captivating news in a distinguished fashion. With her vibrant personality, receptive energy, and true love for vocation, Tara created The New Journalist as a platform for stories that need to be told. TNJ is her first online publication of her journalistic endeavors.

Believing that all things are possible through Christ, Tara is driven and determined to create a showcase of extraordinary stories for her all to enjoy, regardless of platform. Her work has since been published on The Huffington Post and Reader’s Digest — just to name a few.

 Tara obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication with a concentration in Journalism from the University of Bridgeport, CT. She is a proud member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., and of the New York Association of Black Journalists.
