It’s getting messy!
Tuesday, #TNJ reported via Instagram that former NFL star Michael Strahan is leaving LIVE with Kelly and Michael after just four years. The Hall of Famer will now join Good Morning America as a co-anchor to the already dynamic team.
While many had mixed emotions about Strahan’s out-of-the-blue announcement, sources close to Kelly Ripa say she’s beyond angry and was completely blind-sighted by the news. According to Entertainment Tonight, Ripa was not notified about Strahan’s decision until after taping Tuesday’s episode. As a result, the always bubbly and witty host has taken an unplanned vacation, not scheduled to return to the set until Tuesday.
Ripa’s brief hiatus comes as fuel to an already rumored fire that she feels betrayed by the actions of her co-host. Should these rumors be true, we don’t blame her. To be left completely in the dark by a colleague you spend majority of your time with is completely inconsiderate and down-right shady if you ask us!
Media Mogul Oprah Winfrey seems to agree with us.
While promoting her latest project, Greenleaf, at the Tribeca Film Festival, Winfrey commented on Strahan’s departure by telling Entertainment Tonight Correspondent, Sharon Carpenter that, “Nobody should ever be blindsided.”
“Nobody should ever be blindsided. I don’t know who’s in charge, but somebody should’ve said, ‘This is gonna happen.’ You shouldn’t have to read it in the paper. Ever.”
